That's a good one! It reminds me of the huge culvert I entered while stream-hiking when I was nine years old. Inside was a huge pile of rubble I couldn't climb over so I turned around. Then I almost stepped on a huge water snake in the creek and I turned and suddenly I was able to climb right over that giant pile of bricks and mud! Really fast, too!

If there were such things as trolls, they would undoubtedly dwell inside culverts rather than under bridges
Clearly trolls already live in culverts, along with huge dark salamanders that cling to the sides and await your naked foot...
