Agamemnon's flowers

These are the ruins of Agamemnon's palace at Mycenae in spring. About now. The wild flowers are a froth of tiny blooms that hum with bees. The air is sweet and strokes your skin with a velvet care. You can see for miles in all directions and the Lion Gate still stands.

Have you been there?

yes---I took a trip there two years ago with my son, who is a huge history buff. It was one of the most beautiful trips I've ever been on.
